This early Monday morning we step you through an overview of the killer single-core performance that the new AMD Athlon FX-57 is made of.

AMD took the Athlon 64 FX architecture down a notch in process geometry, cranked up the clock speed another 200MHz, goosed the memory controller and dropped in SSE3 instructions. The results speak for themselves.

    See the reviews and articles: Hothardware | HardOCP | Tech-Report | DriverHeaven | 3dvelocity |Xbit Labs |bit-tech | ExtremeTech | Hexus

Hopefully the results we see in these articles will prove to be better than just overclocking an FX-55 200MHz. With a smaller die and more transistors it should be promising, I might have to get one and upgrade from this old P3 450 ;)
