The only issue I have is a link to the chat, I still can't find one. I think the top bar

Could you disable nick name changing? Its my opinion it'd be better if everyone had their own name so you could know who you're really chatting with. Right now I'm in the chat as Jimmy James Macho Business Donkey Wrestler.

I don't think thats a great place for the chat link, I don't know about most people but I have http://forums.techpowerup.com/ linked in my bookmarks. And I figure most of the people who would be using the chat are forum users.

Same here.
As you can easily get the news AND general threads both from the forum page. I rarely ever go to the front page, so the chat link isnt really present in any visible way in the forum pages.

Looks good and works well but try running it on Safari, the chat is constantly loading, as if the page never finished.

Theres only 6 people in the chat right now, I guess this is what the mods meant by dead. I'm still convinced the cause is the location of where to join the chat. And I hope even if it never takes off as popular they just leave it be so a select few can continue to use it if we want to. What is the point of burying it just because it doesn't have 100 people in it at all times?

try replacing the . with an _ when it asks for your name

Edit:

@ Dr. Spankenstein: i just checked and the "." in your name is the "Erroneous Nickname: Illegal characters" error your getting you should be fine if your try and log in to chat with the name "Dr_Spankenstein"
