I say hack their site so that everytime someone tries to load the page they get redirected to the vid of a constant loop of a biscuit in a basket video or W/E the heck it is

    I kid, I kid.... :p

Asus now has some TPU feature as well IIRC. The all powerfull W1zzards influence is spreading through all of geekdom like voracious fungus!

    Whats next? :)

PS I think its all Mussels fault, he wanted to start his very own TPU in Aussie land lol

because the worlds full of copycats and ripoff merchants, and with a site as well renowned as TPU i would atleast think they would wish to copyright the logo, what if someone was browsing for the site and came across a dodgey version by chance claiming to be TPU and downloaded what they thought was gpuz (example) and it turns out to be malware. Not very good for the sites rep but thats just my two cents

the only reason i even noticed this, is because of the 'tech..." name.

a similar icon is one thing, but a similar name AND a similar icon is a bit worrisome.

Techpowerup is copyrighted. No worries there. However he changed the logo enough to not get sued I would guess. Ive seen worse walk scott free. Why do any of you even care? Now you respect copyrights? The hypocrisy.

tpu doesnt own a patent of a power on button . Please this is ridiculous anyone can design that in photoshop easily. I think patent wars is what is exactly wrong with this industry .

Can you even trademark what is essentially a universal symbol?

If by that you mean: cropping & rotating. Ya, he did a whole lot different!

    Yes, this.

Actually, if you look close, it is totally different. Clearly designed from scratch and not just copied and rotated. It might have been inspired by the TPU logo, or he might have just pulled up the power button symbol and put a red ring around it. The TPU logo has the circle going through the line, his has the line separate from the circle, his is the traditional power symbol.

You can copyright a layout. W1zz did this. However this guy changed the layout. W1zz doesn't have much ground I believe. However I could be wrong. I HOPE I'm wrong. lol

    Now you care about copyrights?

i see no reason to act. the logo is sufficiently different.

good to see that some people think tpu is so awesome that they feel inspired by it.

its interesting to see the power button rotated to look like a 'G' .. but thats not how power buttons are oriented, are they? kind of silly and lacks originality..

TPU has the most original design! with the word 'power' incorporating the stanard IEC power symbol..

Yeah, you are right, but that was kind of the point I was making. Just because a logo has the same symbol in it, or in this case a similar symbol, that doesn't mean it is the same logo.

And honestly, making a logo for an electronics site that has the power button symbol on it isn't exactly a crazy idea.

Exactly we shouldnt block innovation . Very soon apple might sue companies that create refrigerators since it looks like an ipad from a distance.

    this is true.

to the people saying "how can you patent a power button?" all i can say is "Apple"

w1zz has spoken that he doesnt care since its different enough, so thats all that matters.
