Looking for any type of old full tower case that you might have laying in a garage or something. Im looking to start getting into case modding and i thought this would be a good start.

Those are the best to mod...cutting the crap out of a case you dont like can be really rewarding:rockout:

The case spearman linked to is an excellent one to mod.
    120mm fan for exhaust
hole behind the mobo for ventilation and hiding wires
Hdd rack not blocking incoming air
    smooth front (like blank palate)
usually cheaper cases are made from thinner metal (easier to cut)

Why not hit up your local craigslist? Usually you can find a bunch of old cases for cheap or free. Shipping a case is super expensive.

    MKmods says thanks.

Yea shipping ranges from $30-50 for a case. It's so heavy!!

Yeah but you know newegg gets a huge volume discount with their shipping partners. Its going to cost them a lot less to ship a case than it will for the average person to ship a case.

Oh and spearman, that case is hideous. :shadedshu

I just sent a full tower (alum) with 2 PSs, mobo and asst parts to So Cal on Fri and it was $24 for USPS priority.

I really like your "Buy local" idea though. We need to support those close by us and its really cool to recycle old cases as well.

Looks like a pretty sweet case for $25. You could probably haggle it down a little too.
Should have lots of potential to mod.

Ive been keeping my eyes open for an old case on my local craigslist for free or cheap to mod. Haven't seen anything in a while. I think I might stop by goodwill tomorrow and take a look.
