I'm trying to edit a registry key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\AGP) but the registry won't let me create a new value, it says that the key is in use by a process.

    I've tried:
    - .reg file
    - .inf file
    - safe-mode
    - safe-mode basic video
    - using reg from the command line (Start > Run > CMD)

I tried msconfig too but there's no boot.ini or autoexec.bat anymore so no dice. :banghead:

    Any help?

I'm trying to add the PCIid for the ULi AGP8x Controller. For some reason it isn't registered by default.

It's a fresh install so I don't mind if it breaks.

EDIT: Bart's PE doesn't pickup my keyboard for some reason. Testing with UBCD4W

Now malware that reaches your user level rights can effectively fuck your computer.

Only grant permissions one sub directory of windows at a time, or boot to a windows disk with regedit added to the sources directory.

I set the permisions back as they were. Don't worry :)
