Going to put either a 4670 or 3850 in a machine here and want something with ultra low power draw for when its not gaming, so yes the clocks will be beaten down to a minimum.

Curious if anyone has the tools to test with these cards downclocked with a system at idle?

It will mainly be used for web/email etc, and from time to time easy gaming "warcraft3, nvn2, guildwars"

Every videocard review on this site has power draw numbers. Those are all at stock clocks though. Then again, the tasks you list can be done on basically any card, including IGP's.

Minus NWN2, and I would like to run the games at max settings, well again minus NWN2, its horrible and I can't even max it on my 4850...

I was looking at those, that's why I was curious about the drop clock numbers..

Would dropping the clock on your video card even make a decent difference, or do they not step very well, that I don't even know.
