I just got this mobo and had it set up. everything is working normal... but i cant figure out how to work with this bios,
this is my first intel core 2 quad chip ( i never own a C2D chip either) so basicly i dont have any OC experience with Intel C2D CPU.
as i play around in the bios i see theres 3 option to overclock the CPU.
one is Link which Links the FSB with memory Speed. it can be 5:4 or 3:2 or 1:1. ( im not sure which i should set to if i use this)
the other one is manual. this one is pretty much you adjust your own FSB and memory Speed.
i try to do the manual and leave the memory at 800 mhz while increase the FSB ( the starting FSB in there was 1066 ) i try to do 1333 but when i save and reboot nothing changes CPU still running at 2.4ghz and when i go back to the setting FSB was reset back to 1066...
I tried to go higher like 1500 FSB for CPU while leaving memory at 800. i get a system hangs. i have to reset my cmos to get it boot up.
so pretty much im kind confuse with this bio here. im not sure what other setting i need to change inorder for overclocking..
also in the main menu of OC page. i have this setting call SLI memory ready setting
I can set it to 0% CPU OC up to 5% CPU OC. or MAX CPU OC or EXPERT.
im also clueless about this one as well i tried to use different type of SLI memory settinb but seems like is not helping..
Im currenting using intel Q6600 2.4ghz
OCZ SLI ready memory 4gb 2x1GB per pair Timming 5-5-5-15 DDR2 1066
OCZ Gamerextreme 700 PSU
( check my system spec for other parts)
Please help....
