Nvidia just released their Geforce Titan chip, that will cost you an arm an a leg to buy. $1000 GPU.

Yea, I saw it, it is a huge waste. And to buy it would be a downgrade from what I have currently.

Those are dual-GPU, doesn't count. (besides overpriced titan)

    The downsides or multi-GPU are:
    • Overpriced
    • Really hard to resell, loses lots of value fast
    • Negligible performance increase over the single-GPU version, for the price
    • Not worth the price (unless you're a multimillionaire then it's pocket change)

But normal can run 4x SLI/Crossfire, so actually it's a downgrade unless of course you want to spend $3000 on three of them...

But it's way overpriced, negligible performance increase, for the price.

Actually it is a market fact based on going rates of comparable hardware.

I agree, I have no reason to upgrade, mine is already one of the best. Just curious about what's new.

$100 more for a single GPU version of the GTX690 performance wise...Not exactly anything different than AMD or nVidia has done in the past.

For gaming purposes maybe (though it has no competition). For professional use it's a steal.
Anyway, it seems it's sold out just about everywhere.

Or the fact AMD is in hold pattern for the new consoles to come out with games coded to their specs like Nvidia has had since xbox 360 ........Who here remember s the ps3,Xbox year when they released them???? Nvidia did the same thing no new hardware until the consoles caught up.

Anyways if your running 7950 x2 in crossfire just wait it out,No need for you to upgrade yet.

Oh, I think they do......it's the price that's on their collective conscience.:shadedshu

Yes, multi-GPU gaming has its pitfalls, like microstutter, lack of CF/SLi profile for new games, negative scaling when it's really bad, possible locks/freezes and such.....but when it works, the result can be breathtaking. I've been dealing with multi-GPU gaming for a while now, and I can honestly say.....it's been great thus far. Sure, there have been times when I do encounter SLi/CF issues, but they are not so bad to the extend that I'd want to give up on it. Like I'd said, when SLi/CF works, it's stunning.......I play BF3 at absolute max setting @5760x1200, the 'Going Hunting' level for example, I don't go below 60fps with highs exceeding 100fps. For me, CF/SLi is simply necessary since no single card can perform to such level......not even a single GTX Titan.
