While the concept itself is still in planning, AMD CEO Hector Ruiz says that Apple will eventually incorporate its processors into their products. At a dinner party in San Francisco, Ruiz emphasized that Apple "didn't want to be a hostage to Intel, like other firms have been". Ruiz also berated Intel for making the PC industry seem based on price alone. However, the PC industry is far from mature, and the incorporation of AMD processors in major OEM builds definitely helps AMD gain a more significant market share.

intel must be doing something wrong to be losing all its exclusivity deals but im guessing its down to years of abusing its position as the no.1 cpu brand and charging ridiculose prices

Its funny how it works... AMD sits there with the best processors availiable with no contacts and intel having worse CPU's has all the contacts. Now intel has the better chips and amd is getting all the contacts :p

I say good, I am tired of Intel being the top dog. Not that I want to see AMD as the top dog in the market either, I don't like any company being dominent over its competitors. I would like each to get pretty close to each other in market share so we can see some real competition, it always leads to good things for the consumer(me).

AMD's hardware is up to snuff these days... and their opterons are dangerously powerful server chips ;) *cough*xserve*cough* plus they're cheap. Apple realizes people want cheaper macs.

the thing is when amd gets all these new deals will they put more into research or will the CEO get greedy? thats my biggest issue as to these deals but i want to see apple run some opty servers cause they would be nice i might even stoop as low as to get a mac lol
