Apple is now the most valuable computer maker in the world. At the current US$186 per share, Apple's value as a company is US$162B. That's now larger than IBM ($159B) and Intel ($155B) and fourth in terms of computer companies behind only Cisco ($189B), Google ($208B), and Microsoft ($290B). I guess it pays to be in school art programs? Or at lease the High School I went to was all Apple's. If Apple has more software that I'd like, I'd go and buy a G5 any day of the week.

Apple's arnt better for school art. Whether it be video or image based.
Though it was the case in previous years.

Yeah, It's been about 6 years since I was in my high school. So, now how is apple getting better so quick? Is it the fact that it is easy to handle base computer that even M$ is developing stuff to put on it?

Well the way I look at it, I use both OSes and each of them have their perks. However, I do have the opinion that Mac is a better OS for everything but gaming. That's just my opinion. However, with Apple's growth this may indeed change in the near future. Only time will tell.

Here, here. I hope that they can also. Like to see Apple and M$ go at it on the whole "bragging rights". I thought of putting Linux on my computer by putting a new HDD in it for just that, But still thinking on the support that they have?

I like Their cases, but their monitors are extremely ugly.
It I could game on Apple and it didn't cost like gaming PC, then perhaps I would buy it
but for now, WinX64 is stable as a rock!

Apple desktops are not more expensive than a PC with the same hardware.

And they're monitors are ugly? I hope you mean the casings are ugly, because the panels themselves are stunning.

I've always thought the cases were ugly and the panels substandard to alternative manufactures in the same price bracket.

Well, the casing is purely opinion, but considering they use the same exact panel as the other manufacturers in their price bracket, they're hardly substandard.

That's not true.
They use inferior panels, such as with the 3007WFP and the Apple 30" monitors.
And they price their monitors higher and sometimes much higher than the competition.
This, coupled with the casing design, which I, and everyone I've ever known find awful, makes for a pretty lowsy end deal.

With most Apple products these days, you pay for a name, but get a good product. With monitors, you pay for the name and get an inferior product.
I always know that if someone has an Apple monitor, they are the true definition of "fanboy".

P.S. How can Apple control less than 8% of the Desktop market and be worth more than Microsoft? These people must be absolutely amazing with marketing to stupid hardware noobs.

Though then again, you rarely hear people complaining about Macs

I got my first experiences using a computer by way of Macintosh way back in the day, so I've got a special place in my heart for the company, even if I think the current leadership royally screws over its customers today (non-replaceable batteries in iPods, contract-only-iPhones, etc.).

No? Show me the price you get on an HD2900XT native to Apple? When you cant find that for 350 bucks then let me know how much they are charging for an X1900.

Iv been using Mac for close to 15 years professionally and they haven't made a good system in about 5 years. All they are now are over priced name dropping pretty boys. However OSX is STILL better to me than XP or Vista.
