Now, I'm not sure whether this is really big news for us dual graphics users which for some reason doesn't get the attention it deserves, or the release notes exaggerate things(or are just unclear).

It could potentially be a big boon to all dual graphics users however! Sadly, I cannot test it myself, as the gf with her dual graphics laptop is away for 6 months. Maybe mussels or somebody else can try it out though?

i've installed those drivers, and dual graphics wont enable with them on my laptop. its 6 series + APU, but nonetheless it doesnt work. i can switch between them fine, but no crossfire/dual GPU options.

Weird stuff, with the HP i tested everything with i could use all drivers just fine. Only once i had some weird issue, but a total driver wipe helped out.

but was the crossfire mode enabled? i can run either GPU all i want, on any drivers i want - but im stuck with an outdated 2012 driver if i want the 'crossfire' dual GPU part to work.

yeah, I had to get rid of the manufacturers driver first though. Don't remember how i've done it exactly, but it probably wasn't much more than forcing uninstalling both chips in device manager

well i reinstalled 7, and just did a fresh format to 8 with the same problems. launch driver works, but has never been updated :/

again it may be a generation thing - if yours was newer, it may behave better.

Hm maybe, but iirc it has a an A6-3410MX, meaning 1st gen aswell.

perfect example of my problems: running 14.2 beta, it detects my dedicated 6400 series card as a 7400, which may be what breaks the dual GPU/crossfire.


going to try generic drivers from other laptop manufacturers... will report back if it works, since that may help the OP decide
