Hello all,

I have been playing alot of games recently.... mostly BF4, Crysis 3, Archeage. Don't know if many other people play Archeage, but it is a Korean MMO.... really fun game. Brings alot of aspects of old MMO games all into one...
Heres a list of some features:

Can buy/sell/claim land in designated areas(Not designated zones, but in set areas around the regular game map)

Can build houses/mansions/farms - can decorate houses/mansions - can grow crops on the farm land. (For crafting)

Can run trade packs across the games map - Cross Continent, Cross Ocean, or within the same continent. Price of trade pack increases the farther you travel from where it was made.

Open ocean! - Can build several different boats to do many things in the open ocean.... Naval Combat (Ship vs Ship)... Sport fishing.... Pirating.... (stealing players trade packs) Boats you can build: Rowboat, Harpoon Clipper, Merchant ship (Can carry 20 trade packs at once) Fishing boat... (Can carry lots of fish at once).... Galleon (Has lots of cannons for naval combat)

There is alos PVP obviously... you have standard 1v1 areana, and 5v5 team deathmatch basically.

There is a rediculous amount of items to craft and upgrade... it is mind boggling the amount.

Have the ability to glide freely anywhere in the map.

I am sure I forgot quite a few awesome features... the list goes on and on.

Also I did want to mention with my rig I do notice some odd FPS lag.... I have come to the conclusion it is the game not being optimized well... But I wanted to see what others had to say.

In the farm areas in the game, my FPS drops alot and even down into the 20s. It is very stuttery, it just seems to bounce down low into the 20s randomly.... it is only in the farm areas where there is a stupid amount of stuff to load. I am assuming this is a memory leak or something... but it is quite annoying! When I am not in the farm areas it doesnt seem to dip down much. I know my computer can run this game just fine.... I run the game on Normal graphics so I can record with good FPS.... I have tried on Lowest, and also on Highest settings. It really doesnt seem to make a difference. I am assuming its a game optimization thing, because I can run BF4/Crysis 3 with over 60FPS average near maxed out.... Any ideas?

Anybody else have anything good/bad to say about this game?

You forgot a biggie: Have enough people dance and a dance party breaks out!!! (30s into it)

There are a lot of good things about Archage but unfortunately I'm still pretty low-level (not much time to play right now)

Yeah, thats one big downfall to the game, it requires a large investment of time to get anywhere.

And yeah, the dancing is really funny haha.

I also enjoy a good gank sesh too. Honestly my favorite thing. :)

I really wanted to like it but I can't deal with "number key attacks" Call me old school or whatever but I just can't "fight" by picking keys

At first when playing this game, I kept realizing there are way to many skills to actually set everything up so its nice and close on the keyboard.

So I just ended up buying a Logitech G600 to overcome that... 12 Thumb Buttons + 2 other profiles sets it up nicely. Took a while to get used to the mouse, but now the game plays alot better with it.

Yeah I guess that would be the solution. I only have 3 thumb buttons... I thought it was a very pretty game tho

Yeah the graphics are very nice. The game does use CryEngine as well too, and you can tell. This game has alot of things you don't normally see in MMO's. More of little detail things, Like turning on lights, sitting in chairs, and lots of other little things like this that make the game feel more real (I am sure I forgot some.)

I've been playing since release. I haven't touched it in the last 2 or 3 weeks though as I have been busy. I have a L31 cleric and 3 other characters.

The game is great. One of the better MMO's Ive played. Lots and lots to do but last I played finding land was impossible and people were selling it for way too much. I need a 16x16 plot but hell if I'm going to pay 1000 gold or more. For me owning land is an important feature because I want to farm and do trade runs. (This can still be down using public farms) Anyways, I still dig the game. It's fun. But right now I have Dragon Age to play and GTA 5 as well. Those two games will get all of my attention.

That is a fact White.... I actually payed for the early release and Alpha access.... only to have my account get hacked 1 week before the actual Live launch of the game. Unfortunately I didn't get my account back til 3 days after the regular release.... So I basically missed like the initial 6 days of launch. That alone screwed me for getting land... And yeah, prices are kinda all over the place. Its all location really, like my buddy has 9-10 16x16s, and some of them are water front, and he is asking 1600G for those.

Trade packs are fun, but do get repetitive obviously....

And yes, I will be the same way now.... Just purchased DA: Inquisition last night and I can already tell I am being sucked into it. Awesome game so far.

Yeah I payed for the $149 deal but at release. I missed the head start and in doing so missed the land rush. Sucks.

I actually swapped to this game from Guild Wars 2... and it is very different. Guild Wars is a great series and all, but It was lacking hard in PVP updates and content. The amount of "Cheese" builds in GW2 you could just play and have instant skill was annoying.

Now the same could be said for Archeage, there are alot of builds, I believe around 120 Class combinations total. And there are I guess some "Cheese builds" I have fought. But compared to GW2, Archeage excels in almost every way. THE 1 THING I like more about GW2 is the fluidity of the combat (Being able to cleave, dodge roll, etc.). In archeage there is no Evasion button and is all based on chances instead. In Archeage you run into more of a variety of fights... theres not 6 classes total that you are locked into fighting each other with. Everytime I enter the 1v1 Arena, I usually fight another class I have never seen before.

The leveling did suck I will say. The end game content so far has not let me down however. Very grindy and boring though.
