All my home PCs are old and I've had them since when new.

Main home PC is a Q6700 @ 3.3GHz on stock volts. The chipset is an i975X (!) lol

My "MagicJack rig" has a Pentium III 1GHz that I built back when Intel had just hit the GHz mark.
That was the first and last time I ever dropped a G-note on a CPU lol

My laptop has a Pentium III-E @ 266-900MHz, all I use it for is e-books and playing really old games.

All my old stuff does exactly what I need them to, with distinction. I can definitely afford new stuff, but I'm not greedy.

I would not argue with you against AMD :D

And I think that the topic was going to be more interesting if people are still using older CPU for their main rigs. People use much much older computers as routers, servers (web mail file etc.) 2008 is not that far.

on my budget pc I have a Q8400 @ 4Ghz, and it still runs most titles very good, I also have 2 penitum dual cores, one as a server and the other in my htpc, up till last week I had a old P4(a bastardly willamette core) running as a router but it used too much power so I just replaced it with something newer.

I guess I would have to vote 09' or later.
I currently use my rig in my sig and my HP mini which has an Intel atom N280.

Reason being is the other CPUs/Desktop PCs I have are not in use but they are pre 08'.

My folks still have a 386DX Packard Bell still running with Win-XP loaded. It's vintage, but is used for storage of photos and music.

Main rig use a qx9650 at 4ghz air cooled, chews up everything I throw at it.

Another rig mainly for playing old games use a Athlon XP 3200+ with an old radeon 9700.

Depends how you read the specs with mine.

Netbook has an Athlon X2 L310 which was technically released in Jan '09
Desktop has a Phenom II B97 which was technically released in May '10

Neither is really that new as far as tech goes.

    I have two "relics":

Athlon XP 2500+ (oc'd to 3200+) with an X850 XT AGP
    Athlon64 3700+ with a 7600 GS AGP

    Both are used pretty regularly.
