I may have just had a bad experience, but I do know that MX1 + VGA memory + gigantic copper memory heatsinks = dead video card :p.

i had the same prob as you, wondering whether to put AS5 on my mem (back when i had stock cooler) I didnt try it, i didnt know much and thought it was too risky.

Im not sure what the Arctic cooler fans use, but there is a layer of paste or something that does go onto the memory (its stuck onto the cooler itself)

forgot i had zalman 700 to use so i dont need to us as5 but it is something id like to know about for later reference

I heard that silver particules were soo small that they get inside the mem chip and creates shortcuts

yeah because as protius said, if it killed the memory, why would it not kill the core...its basically the same thing

I used it on my 6800GTs when I installed an early version of the AC cooler.

no probs with them, they are still going strong.
