I have Been getting Absolutely HORRIBLE transfer speeds when putting Movies onto My USB thumb drives, most of which are "Cruizer Glides", To be exact, I basically ALWAYS get about 4MB/s. I Download @ twice that speed,So You can probably see where My frustration is coming from.

Am I wrong in thinking that MY USB 3.0 transfer speeds are too slow? Or is there some factor I am Not seeing?

I dont think the USB drives I use are 3.0, but I think they should be faster than 4MB/s.

My Current ASMedia XHCI Controller Driver Version is 1.10.1.0 , and shows that it is the most current.

I THINK that this is the USB 3.0 driver, but I could be wrong..."ASM104xUSB3"

If YOu DO see a driver being outdated, PLEASE can You tell ME where the hell I go to get it, Iv'e searched, and the sites are either in some other language, or shady looking, or Vague @ best.

Any constructive help is appreciated greatly.

Thank You.

Are you sure you connect the USB drives to Asmedia ports. Most of your ports are 2.0 that are controlled by the Intel chipset and don't need an additional driver. I have an old drive that has an 8 MB/s write speed but I also have a really old 512 MB drive that has 4 MB/s speed.

There is no point in using USB 2.0 drives in USB 3.0 ports. Those are still USB 2.0 speeds. Have you tested the slow flash drives on another machine? I wouldn't suspect the ports even the Asmedia ones.

It won't get any faster sorry, I have a Cruzer too, write speed is pretty dismal. actually Sandisk make a point of not listing any USB2.0 r/w specs on the product page.

USB3.0 Ultra flash drive specs only mention read speeds, writes conspicuously omitted.... http://www.sandisk.com/products/usb/drives/ultra3/

Only Extreme series have full disclosure of read/write specs ...http://www.sandisk.com/products/usb/drives/extremepro3/

Get what you pay for I guess........
