Zonda R anyone?

I thought a thread for this already existed, but doesn't look like it.

The developer Kunos made Netkar pro and Ferrari Virtual Academy, both PC racing sims, and is set to release Assetto Corsa late this yr.

If you own Netkar pro{$15euro} you gain access to a tech demo being released soon, but they're also releasing a demo later as well.

Assetto Corsa has 15 or so Cars, 10 Lazer scanned tracks, MP, DX11 GFX, and modding support.

Another simulation on boring circuits. Give us racing simulation that uses real world well known regular road routes. Who cares about some boring race circuits you can play in every damn racing game. Only circuit that i'd still leave in the game is Nurburgring because it's a very special case and thats it. Bah...

Hey hold on hey, this game supports modding, and the way rf2 are going, many modders will come onboard AC and produce more than enough content.

And wait another decade for someone to "maybe" release something else. Bah.

Then again, if anyone is reading this, take NFS Porsche routes and mod it for this game. NFS Porsche had quite some realyl amazing pieces of tarmac from Corsica, Cote D'azur, industrial routes, forest routes, Piranesi etc etc.

Not that such roads are much more fun since they are casual road, they are also harder to drive with elevation changes, banked corners and very uneven terrain. Something racetracks rarely have in a decent enough ammount...

Huh......if AC is a success, then one would assume another major release from them within 3-5yrs.
There's also Reiza studio's[GSC 2012 maker] and their games over the next 12-18months.

Project CARS has normal roads, like Monaco Coast line and California Highway which are point to point tracks, you either race on the complete version that takes about 9m to finish depending on the car or choose segments of it to race.

The first part of this video was recorded on California Highway and after 0:53 on Monaco Coastline

Despite how good this game looks, Kunos mentioned it was easy on resources, probably due to ground up DX11 build, so probably $100 7750 would work "well" with this, but with a demo, we'll be able to test ourselves.

I take it this is still the unofficial Assetto page?

An update for anyone who is keeping an eye on this title.
It was officially released last month, with a possibility of updates bi or quad weekly.

As of the moment the game has about five tracks and eight cars, which you can use in time trial/Time attack modes. A few of the vehicles can be upgraded mechanically.

There is no online mode and no AI racing /races.

The graphics engine is pretty basic by today's standards. There's not a great sense of ambient occlusion or shadow presence. The tessellation is not particularly impressive. Rear view mirrors still have low resolution rendering and the trees are borderline MS paint.
Apparently it's not finished but..I don't have much faith in a game that launches with 'unfinished' graphics.

The biggest gripe though is the handling. The turn in on every vehicle is insanely quick and it's far too sensitive into the bends.
No amount of steering lock or modified suspensions/alignment will solve it.

It's a super game breaker.

IMO it's one , if not the best sim i have played.

It's from the same devs from netKart-Pro and Ferrari virtual academy.

The game is currently on Steam early access so there are some issues with are being solved, and features that are still being implemented.

Here's a video comparison between AC & GT6

Also make sure to configure your wheel or pad properly, there are lots of tutorials on the Steam community or the AC ofiicial page.

Actually it has 7 tracks and 2 variations so far.

and eight cars, which you can use in time trial/Time attack modes. A few of the vehicles can be upgraded mechanically.

What version are you using? as far as i know ver1.0 had 11 cars from the beginning and current ver3.2 has 17 cars.

The biggest gripe though is the handling. The turn in on every vehicle is insanely quick and it's far too sensitive into the bends.
No amount of steering lock or modified suspensions/alignment will solve it.

It's a super game breaker.

Did you configure the wheel or pad correctly? there is a wizard in the control menu for the wheel, and several sliders for the pad (although pad steering is WIP).

I'm curious because IMO it's one of the best sims i have played with a pad or a wheel (G27), although to get the most out of it a wheel is recommended.

The sound is soooo superior to GT6. I am a huge Forza fan and if this turns out to be good I will be in heaven.

Actually pretty much anything sounds better than GT these days. It's a huge deal breaker for me.

Remember that AC is being made by 10 guys in Italy with a little fraction of the budget GT or Forza has so don't expect the amount of content GT or Forza has, you can expect less amount of content but with better quality: Life like cars handling, Laser scanned tracks, etc. Sim wise it's on the same league as Rfactor, iRacing so if you came from GT or Forza it might be a bit challenging at the beginning.

What version are you using? as far as i know ver1.0 had 11 cars from the beginning and current ver3.2 has 17 cars.

I am on Update from November; I tried to get the new one and Steam goes all haywire. I haven't time to fix it at the moment - I'll ask around and see if anyone can upload it.

Yes. Initially it has a preset that it found for the G27, which I looked over, made some slight adjustments and then went to test.
Ultimately no matter which configuration I use, the cars are simply too agile.

Please by all means screenshot your settings and advanced settings for the G27.
