Hi all, I've got an ASUS A7S8X-MX here, with an AMD K7 Athlon 1000 AVHA (A1000AMT3B)
It was in my mate's internet PC, and we had problems with XP. On a fresh install it was fine, but after installing updates, media players, firefox, antivirus, etc. it would take about 10 minutes to get into windows. Also, youtube videos played really choppy even on lowest resolutions.
The board uses DDR1 and has SATA ports so the board's obviously XP-capable, so is it the CPU that's just too slow for XP?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I know it's not the HDD, as I've just upgraded his net PC using the same drive as his OS drive.
If you need to know anything else, just ask.
