Thanks to erocker i received a HIS 3870 today to pair with mine. Both cards run great individually and in crossfire(although the score increase is less than i hoped), they run in 8x/8x configuration and the board does not have pcix 2.0 slots (i can live with this till i next upgrade).
However, when trying to oc the cards in xfire there's no go. The primary card oc's fine but the secondary card won't budge a single mhz (atitool, rivatuner etc).
After alot of googling i find an intersting fact about the Blitz Formula and its pcix slot config.
The primary slot is pcix1.1 spec whereas the second slot is only pcix1.0/1.0a.
This means the second slot is not really compatible with the newer gen cards :banghead:
So much for being the best P35 xfire board, how misleading is this
It is not mentioned in the specs or manual and even all the reviewers of it didn't know till recently.
So it looks like my next mobo upgrade is gonna be sooner than i thought. :ohwell:

Unlucky, sounds a bit fucked up that one slot is 1.1 and the other is 1.0, the mobo designer must have been high on crack when he made that ridiculous decision. As for overclocking, sounds like a BIOS oc is the only option.

Sounds like you're gonna need an x38/x48 to get full potential out of them.

Have you attempted using AMD Gpu Clock Tool? Editing bios with RBE and flashing each card seperately?

Well its atleast gonna be another month till i can afford a new mobo but its what i'll prob do.
Cheers, I haven't tried AMD Gpu clock tool yet so i'll prob give that a whirl tommorrow, not holding my hopes up though.
Haven't tried changing clocks through a bios flash and don't really want to either, although i have tried to change the voltages through RBE with my 1st 3870 but they just wouldn't stick no matter what voltage i tried.
Pencil modding works but only upto 1.4v, anymore and it just hardlocks going into 3d apps.
