Asus gtx 690 problem

Hi i own an ASUS GTX 690 its been almost one year, never used it a lot, recently i upgraded my rig to a ASUS P9X79 with an INTEL CORE i7 3820, i have 750w CORSAIR PSU, FRIO advanced, 8Gb or RAM; my problem is the card did not want to run properly it had a lot shtuttering, after that i disabled intel speed step, HT ... after it run like a charm, but after long use the computer stopped (i think something blown up within the card :twitch:)
KI restarted the computer, now it shtutters a lot, am having 25Fps on battle field 3 !!!:banghead:
I used gpu z to see whats happening, it seems that one of the cards on IDLE have a TDP of 103% :eek:
whats wrong with it ?????? please any help would be welcome am sure there are many advanced modders and enthusiast in here

it's quite hard to see from the pic, but that looks like a SMT 0204/0306 capacitor you resoldered...did you have a look closely at the soldering to be sure you didn't bridge the pads?

YES (i guess) the card is working (its not me who soldered it, but a professional) but one card still defective ihave to turn off SLI :mad:
 
Look at both cards idling on windows 7 x64 desktop, you can see the weird power state of the defective one and the gpu load in charge can't go UP a bit.

Is it involved in supplying power to the GPU ? or Memory ?
I will send another accurate photo of the capacitor
 
you would have to follow the trace to see where it leads to and comes from, though i'd consider just taking it back to the professional that done the work on it and letting them know exactly what you've shown us.
Initially you said you thought prolonged use (=heat) had killed it so is it safe to assume the person who fixed the card is someone you commissioned to do the work?

looking at the GPU as that picture is now..it looks as though the upper pad that the cap should be soldered onto is ripped away?
Can you take the 690 back to the guy who done the repair?

mustapha, I'm curious why you paid to have the card repaired when it's still under warranty?

It is not under warranty (even if here there is no warranty to many products including graphic cards !!! WELCOME TO ALGERIA)
 
No warranty? Ouch! :eek:

The 690 is a very expensive card, but I bet it must have cost you a small fortune?
 
As we know it's more than likely a hardware component that is causing the problem and you know what part was soldered back on, I think the only thing left for you to do is contact Nvidia directly and ask if they can repair it for you.
I don't know if there's anything else anyone here can do for you unfortunately. :(
