Asus optical S/PDIF header?

In the P5Qx manual Asus shows a header that plugs into the mainboard and appears to add an optical S/PDIF connector. It "may be purchased separately". They don't give a part # (natch) and the Asus site has been massively f*d up for the past couple of days. I can't find such a thing on Newegg.

Anyone know what these are, and where to get them?

Search for 'Toslink' cable, that's what you will need for optical out.

Uhh, what? I have Toslink. I need something to plug it into. The P5Q MBs use coax S/PDIF out.

I'm not exactly sure I understand what your asking? Do you want to plug into a receiver or something?

Please re-read the OP. I can't make it any plainer.

(And yes, I want to plug one end of my Toslink cable into a receiver and the other end into the PC.)

Not sure, I do see what you mean now, email Asus or just go HDMI via a Spdif passthru cable from your mobo header to your Gfx card if it supports it and the receiver connections permit?

I have few of those S/PDIF headers at home. They came with some ASUS MB I had. It is plain PCI bracket with small PCB and few elements on it. Never sow it on sell though.

Yeah, that's the one. The PCB would be an optical converter. The only picture I've seen of one is in the manual. Care to sell one? :respect:

    Y. There is a little PCB on the panel, too. (I'm using "panel", "header", and "bracket" to mean the same thing.)
