I'm told the Gigabyte is good and I can tell you the Asus Ramage Extreme II is excellent as well. The Gigabyte has a better phase power system but to tell the truth at the level these boards are at both have overkill power systems. Both are very good I would buy what ever board is cheaper.

Apples and oranges. They are both superb, and lc very easily. I swear by this Gig though. It benches with the Xeon's all day. Besides the 3.0 usb and 6gbs sata, the ability to add drives to already running raid arrays won me over.

The Gigabyte x58 boards are just superb. The UD5 was the best board I've ever owned, period. I would certainly buy the Gigabyte, especially considering that it's cheaper.
