Fudzilla has posted an article, where there is some pictures of the upcoming Crosshair IV Extreme. Here's the link:http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/18750/1/

Looks very interesting. The board will have the Lucid Hydra chip, making mixing graphics cards possible. The chipset will of course be the new AMD 890FX as NB and the SB850 as SB. What's also interesting is, that Asus decided to put the Hydra chip on a AMD board first. In the past few years, Intel has absolutely been dominating the motherboards, but with the new platform, it looks like AMD has been able to directly compete with Intel. But no matter what, this is definitely going to be the new "king of AMD boards".

Here's some pictures for those who are too lazy to go to the actual article: [IMG][IMG]

Asus always makes some sexy boards. Lets just hope it's resonably priced.

the only thing I really like about the new asus boards to be honest is the new ram locking mechanism imo its the most fuctional upgrade a board has gotten in a while. push down locking instead of push down cliping I wish all boards featured this.

Am I correct in assuming this has 8+3 (or 8+4) phase power management by looking at the pics???

I checked out pics of the Crosshair IV Formula and it looks like it only has 8+1 phase power management (or is it 8+2 phase)?

I am basing this on the components above the AM3 socket. Someone who knows more about motherboards can correct me if I am wrong.
