Hi everyone,

I seem to have 2 Problems that happens sporadically :( and i think they are related in some way :
-Sometimes when i shut down the system, the monitor goes in stand-by but all the vents/pc lights stay on and it won't shut down, have to only force shut it down sadly.
-Problem number 2 i'd say it's related to the first one..cause right after i shut it down like that it won't boot up right as it should, it just stays like in stand by and won't boot up right.

Any Ideas what i could try? I was thinking on a BIOS update, but i have no clue how stable is the 1702 update...

I am having the same problem with my X99 PC, have heard some people suggest shitty Intel USB3 controller, but i have not been able to fix it, and i have already changed CPU and MOBO.

So i am interested in seeing if you get some help with this.

Benchmark Scores I dont have time for that.
Had the Asus Z170-Deluxe had the same problem. Even after RMA. I just replaced it with a different manufacturer, after replacing the GPU and PSU thinking they were somehow the problem.

Check in the Reliability History, sometimes it can give some clues.

Checked the Reliability History just now...nothing that may help there just dwm.exe that kept crashing...dunno if i should consider the dwm.exe a problem, or should it be that the cause?

Make sure the memory is in firmly and test memory and hdd ,always the first place to start
Test the Ram ,must be done - Memtest . Also clean ram contacts with rubber/eraser
Check the Hdd status quick and easy - HDD Sentinel trial
The psu is not the easiest to test, best would be to borrow one from a friend.

I would do the bios update ,it says increase stability .Could always revert back to old bios.Just make sure you change the sata back to ahci or raid mode . Depending on what it currently on now

Was a friend yesterday battling for a bit ,all random bsods .no boot cd working /pc shutting down
after testing the ram ,straight away memory errors .clean and test individual modules not issue .retest both togeather all fine , All random errors just from dirty/bad contacts on the ram
After first asking did you do anything "nope nothing" , he cleaned pc but ram not seated 100% and removed hdd also faulty sata cable ,updated drivers .
If he said in the start what he did would of been easier to diagnose...

\Bad "memory" contacts can cause strange issues/

Try rebuild WMI for that dwm.exe..
https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askperf/2009/04/13/wmi-rebuilding-the-wmi-repository/

And in command prompt CMD (run as admin) type in: sfc /scannow

About power off issue, do you use Realtek LAN or Intel LAN?

Also did you select power off and dont wake in sleep?
step1.jpg step2.png

And if you use LAN as native UEFI driver (in bios by boot option, I think), try legacy first or set to disable to speedup boot process..
