ATI/AMD drivers fail to install

whats up with these amd drivers?

right now im using 13.4
but i got some performance issue;s with these drivers

so next thing i tryd to install older ones that used to work fine

12.8 first one i tryd so i used driver sweeper to in windows safty mode to unstall 13.4 drivers next thing that hapens me when the system starts to reboot. i failed to get trough the bios sheck. forced to reset cmos. then the system finaly starts up. realy slow
trying to install 12.8 once it fully booted up. it fails to install. system tottaly crashed. tryng to do system recovery, system is slow as shit going uphil trough a drain
almost getting forced format windows..
afhter waiting several hours. no sign of life. restarted system. shecking bios. making some changes. system boots up yay!
reinstalled 12.8 drivers. using ati unstaller. finnaly this time no system crashes good!
install done. system boots up. ati drivers failed to install!
steam wont no longer start. chrome wont start!
great what now? unstalled 12,8 and installed 11.12
same story!
unstalled and installed 13.4 every thing works fine :S
wtf is this shit? can anny one tell me why these older drivers wont work?

AMD doenst like to uninstall. It left its shit in the cat tray and damn is it hard to clean up.

Hi,

you could use atiman uninstaller ver. 6.3.1 or 7.0.2 (thanks for the links, k1net1cs!) to clean up the leftovers of the catalyst 13.x drivers and see if you can install the older 12.x catalyst drivers after using atiman uninstaller.

bios check? reset cmos? that's before any OS or driver is anywhere close to being loaded

so what are the performance issues? if it's just a couple games, you can probably just use older dlls as needed while the newer driver is installed for everything else

tell me how unstalling ati drivers effect my booting?
last time i shecked my 3dmark 2011 droped to around 5000 from 6976
and seems to be since installed these lates 13.4 drivers im getting low fps from useal 40/50 fps to under 15 fps
and gpu usage is usealy allways 90% and makes every thing damn slow on desktop with no games running

Did you try the 13.5 beta drivers? They've worked fairly well for me so far. You can't install it on top of 13.4 iirc, you need to uninstall.

In defense of AMD's uninstaller, it has always worked for me.

actually i never heard that uninstalling could bring you to clear cmos, if theres something that not right it should affect windows not to bios

Maybe try this?

Control panel > Add/Remove Programs > Uninstall Catalyst Install manager and anything else GFX related > Reboot > Start > Run > %programfiles% > Delete any AMD/ATI GFX > Reboot > Start > Run > %appdata% > Delete AMD/ATI GFX > reboot > download/install new software suite.

Could do the trick :confused:

I use the relatively new AMD Cleanup Utility followed by Driver Sweeper, reboot, then run an Analize check in Driver Sweeper for any lingering AMD bits, and it always shows nothing. Then I install the new driver. This method has worked flawlessly.
