ATI Catalyst 10.9 Video Card Drivers Coming This Afternoon

Errrr....I had scaling issues with my 5850 xfire each time I booted up and my bfbc2 was buggy as hell. I haven't had that problem since 10.5a drivers!

Back to 10.4a.

I wish could have sex with 10.4a. Solved 99% of my problems ...

Updated to 10.9 through Steam for my XFX HD 5770 v2. HDMI scaling still resets on reboots (last okay driver was 10.7), and the screen went blank a few times while playing SCII, which then led to the dreaded multi-monitor cursor corruption that only appears on the primary monitor. Getting sick of these shitty drivers lately.

10.9 for me and my 5970 is a nightmare. NOTHING DX11 ,(DIRT 2,BC2,STALKER Call of pripyat) is working properly. Looks great while it does and then crashes on me.

. I wonder if the next Cat's will be 11.0? Will that mean I can use my DX11? Going to remove/reg-clean and try 10.5's.....

10.4a are nice except for the long load times on bc2.

I'm not sure about the sex part though lol. But if it were possible to have sex with drivers, then these 10.9's would surely have crabs.

I done some googling and found some have had real success with 10.4 and 10.4a with the 5970. So I might even give those a try. :toast:

Most people seem happy, if you experience any issues with resolution, try 9a as EastCoast suggested.

You are aware AMD names their Cats after Year.Month? (20)10.9 will be followed by (20)10.10.

Seems like 10.8 drivers with the 10.9 profiles do good for me.

Why would a Gainward GTX 470 requires Catalyst 10.9 or any of its hot fix? I got a HD5970 that run well with from Catalyst 10.4 to 10.9 no issue? Playing Stalker 1 and clear sky now after COD 1 & UO bought off from steam.

Always, hear a lot of complains about driver issue for ATI card. I use Nvidia card also not 100% perfect just have to apply the required patch or workaround. Part and parcel of PC Gaming.

Only my wii, Dsi XL and PSP games don't require patch or workaround.... So stick to console if you don't want to deal with PC gaming problems.

Well, shows that they are committed to a monthly driver updates. With steam integration, they really have done it right this round. Nvidia should also follow suit with the steam integration. I just upgraded to 10.9 without having to wait for the downloading of driver, just click and install plus no reboot. Impressive!!! must have buffer the driver after detecting my ATI card.

AMD/ATI has been running monthly driver updates for years now, at least since 2008.
