ATI is taking an open approach to Dual VGA setups, and has released drivers to support Crossfire on INTEL 955X based boards. This reduces time to market, as there are 955X based boards already out there, or coming shortly and the "Crossfire Edition" graphic cards are not far off. There is even a chance that Crossfire may work on other Intel based chipsets like the 945P. The only real requirement is that the board has 2 large PCIe slots for graphic cards.

Will the boards which have already been released with 955x chipset eg the asus p5wd2 support crossfire? or only the chipsets being released in august?

2 large slots for 8/16x, but it will run in 1x slots too I think... just have a major slowdown from it.
