I've just upgraded my mainboard, and on this new Conroe865PE my ATi FireGL X3-256 will not POST. I get the AMI BIOS 8 beeps ... which means video card error. However, this card works 100% on other boards.
It seems to be some incompatibility between the FireGL and the Conroe865PE. I have tested the Conroe865PE with "lesser cards" like the X800 and it is OK with these. Hence, something fussy with the FireGL and the Conroe865PE. BIOS options are limited... and no tweaks for AGP port.
I've tried adjusting PCI latency from standard 32 to 128 to see if it makes a difference. No.
So, if you have a FireGL X3 could you please post or PM a copy of the BIOS. I will try flashing a different BIOS to see if that will help me POST.
