gpuz stopped reading my overclocked clock speeds, but whats strange is amd gpu tool reads it , ccc reads it and Gpuz in furmark and afterburn reads it. All the sudden it stopped working even after I removed all the other programs. I tried a reinstall of Gpuz with no change.

okay now if I set a clock with AMD GPU tool, GPUz reads it on the desk top. There is a driver problem here. Anyone have a link to the report bugs in gpuz. ATI always has buggy drivers.

I find that overclocking with just CCC GPU-Z shows no changes at all, but with AMD GPU clock tool the changes are visible in GPU-Z

Thats the bug that just started with my computer , so yours is doing it too? It didn't do that before now. Do this set your clocks with CCC only then open gpuz and minimize it . Then run furmark with gpuz minimized. Then you will see Gpuz will read the clocks right in furmark. I wonder what made that start now.

I think it's jsut because GPU-Z in this case is only reading the the default speed on the card and only registers the OC you set in CCC once it 'actually' clocks up to that speed, before then it seems to just show stock speed, or whatever speed the card booted at.

By contrast AMD GPU clock tool does not let the card clock down to 2d at all and just forces your clock speed, so GPU-Z reads it instantly.

Here is my 5850 with a Accelero Twin turbo II

The 5850 is still new, I will wait for a while and hope GPU-Z will read it someday.

Edit: Did a stress test with Furmark.

clocks set to 850/1250 voltage again bumped to 1.162v and the fans are near silent.

I am done with multi-GPU. Single GPU FTW! (can you blame me? I have had pretty much every generation highend CF/SLi.)

has anyone been able to get there 5x00 series card to run dx11 yet. I know there are no dx11 games but it would be nice to see how the card runs dx10 stuff with the dx11 engine. When I run dxdiag I only get dx10.1, main page says windows has dx11 but not the DDi version.

maybe it's because there are not dx11 games at all out until the end of the month, so ati just hasn't enabled dx11 through the drivers?

just did a few furmark benchies with my 5870 and got:

1280x1024 (0xmsaa): 9369
1280x1024 (8xmsaa): 2652
1680x1050 (0xmsaa): 8975
1680x1050 (8xmsaa): 2516

this was with a 900Mhz core and 1260mhz memory overclock (waiting for a rivatuner update to go further, since you can't seem to be able to change fan speeds with amd gpu clock tool).

What's wrong with it?

Micro-stuttering and very low minimum fps. Same as every multi-GPU setup I have ever owned. I have had enough, there is limit I am willing to take.

I don't think it's bad luck. The only multi-gpu setup I had that didn't have this issue was the GTX295, but even then my games never felt as smooth as when I had a single GPU.

I've only tried crossfire once, but it worked fine.

I done it with crappy low end cards though.

This is something I'd like to find out more about, new thread with a poll I think.

That's very good news. I'd like to know a little more about your experience. If you could shoot me a PM with game titles you've tried and the feel of them vs when you had your older video card that would help me greatly. For example I've used a number of video cards and even at similar fps at the same settings one still felt more smooth than the other durring play.

Very fun game to play is prototype with this Card. My E6600 keeps up with that game i sit around 75% CPU but its fast paced and beautiful at 1900x1080. Most games i get great frames until i run or something then my Chip cant keep up like Farcry 2 or COD4 @ 250 FPS. Ill be getting a 965 BE next week so should resolve those CPU bottlenecks then ill report back. Oh yea im also using 16x 1.1 which only makes a slight difference also.

Right now Battle Forge can be played for free and it does have Direct X11.

Don't know much about the game but it is one of the first games that uses Direct X11.

its going to be shown as 10.1 Even my Windows 7 Partition shows it as 10.1 and this is due to 10.1 and 11 being the exact same except for tesselation and Shader Model 5.0. Once a game comes out that uses shader model 5.0 or tesselation it will switch and use d3d11.dll in your system32 folder.

Edit... I could be wrong, If i am that means ATI hasnt released a DX11 driver yet.

How does the 5770 compare to the 5850 @ 1920x1200? Still getting the urge to upgrade from my 512mb 4850 CF, just not sure on the performance increase for the cost.
