Is the ATI mobility 4300 series a discrete card or is it integrated? I got a laptop from a friend and can't figure it out. I tried googling and couldn't find an exact answer.

Seems to be discrete. AMD's website lists it as "an improvement over integrated graphics solutions", and other places on the web put various 4300 series cards together with the word discrete.

Furthermore, I've known most mobility to be discrete/dedicated.

Also, in your search, avoid the site "ihav.net". It turned up a relevant thread, but MSE also detected (and quarantined) TrojanDownloader:Java/OpenStream.BY.

Well he thought it was integrated and sold the laptop to me for $100. Sounds good to me. Time to reformat! Thanks for the help.

Nothing say thanks like clicking the thanks button (hey, the people who do thanks-based giveaways forced my hand).
