ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT & high end openGL?

    Anybody use this chip used in the low end -
    with high end CAD applications which require OpenGL compliant cards?

    I am specifically looking at things like Pro/Engineer & SolidWorks - and whether
    the performance is acceptable enough to avoid the big buck cards.

    From what I understand ATI consumer line products perform rather badly at opengl... You'd be better off getting something from their firegl line, it's expensive but it's meant for OpenGL applications like you need. Barring that, NVIDIA consumer cards have a good reputation with OpenGL, you might want to try one of them.
