ATI Radeon HD 6950 - FPS Problems

Hey guys, I have had a ATI Radeon HD 6950 installed since chirstmas and it was been working completely find, but now for some reason I am getting very bad FPS on many games that I used to be able to play easily. On BF3 I used to get around 100 FPS but now I only get 30. I do not know what could be causing this because I have had no Hardware upgrades at all recently. If you know any way of fixing this please reply. Thanks, NOS.

Intel Core i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz
16.0GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6950
1.5 TB HDD
750 Watt Corsair PSU

100 fps in BF3? At what resolution?

You know what, I bet that's what happened. What resolution is BF3 set to now and is that different than what you originally set it at?

I have always played at the same resolution, but now every single game I play has lower FPS than usual. I do not know what happened.

have you checked the temperatures of your 6950 and your CPU while playing?

is anything OC'ed?

Yeah and I have checked with other people and they say the temps seem to be just fine.

I checked then using GPU-Z and I got an average around 55 - 70

I get around 60-63 degrees while playing BF3.

Well I was running CCC 12.3 but then someone told me to downgrade to 11.8 so I did but it had no effect.

So 11.8 was the ones where you seen 100FPS?

It may have been a glitch and it got fixed is all and now it is reading the right FPS.

No, now what ever I try I don't get my 100 FPS back again. I have tried downgrading and upgrading my drivers but nothing seems to be working.

Like I said sounds like there was a glitch and now it is fixed and reading the right FPS. I think you are never going to see this again.

But my game lags so much now, and it didn't used to lag.

You may have a virus or mallware then.
