I have a HAF 932 Advance (blue led) is black inside and outside, I have a Dupont Chromabase (urethane) paint & clear.

But I don't have idea how to prepare to paint. Sanding? What grit? Adhesion promoter? Primer? I need to sand to the bare metal?

Thanks for any help.

Do you have a place near you that will sand blast? That's what I did when I painted my original HAF 932 when I painted the interior black. Faster, and easier then sanding and does a better job. Takes it all the way down to bare metal. Then you got to clean it really well then you should be good to go with the painting. Primer is recommended. Self etching.

I watched a lot of painting videos on youtube from the channel monstermaud which is MNPCtech Bill Owen's channel. He did sand blasting and self etching primer in nearly all the videos.

I didn't do the sand blasting. I had to take it to a friends. but, its not to expensive I don't think. contact some places near you and ask for a quote.

If you don't feel like doing that. you can sand it, but that'll be a pain in the ass. That's what I started to do, but gave up, took it to a friends. spent an hour blasting, and was done. took it back, cleaned it up, and started priming.

You will want to take the case completely apart too, by drilling out the rivets. with a 1/8th drill bit. Proceed with the painting and all that, then put it back together with new rivets. Be sure that they are aluminum, and 1/8th diameter. Can't remember the effective length though.
