I'll happily wait for Sapphire to make a VaporX version of the 5970. Forget unknown vendors.

Palit made an aftermarket 4870X2, new PCB and cooler, I can only hope this happens for the 5800/5900's.

Yes it does. My 4870 has the VaporX cooler and it runs 25c at Idle and only about 62c under full load with Furmark. Where the reference cards run anywhere from 60~70 at idle and over 100c under load from what I've read. If you've got a case with good airflow, you can't beat it for a stock cooler.
