I got a 500W Antec power supply that cost 70$ for christmas... and it runs alright, but it makes this horrible high frequency squeaky noise, like the ball bearings in the fans need oiled...
what can I do to fix it?

RMA it, if it does not sound right. Chances are you can't oil the bearings, most are sealed, and you don't want to get Oil in the PSU.

Yeah RMA it. I also have the antec smartpower500 and it's very quiet. If it's loud, there is definitely something wrong.

antech quility has droped considerbly over the least 6-9 months, anymore i reccomend fortron or epower over antech, of if you want a top rated name grab enermax, but in reality they are all great units, my 400watt fortrons powering everything in my sys specs and has power to spare!!!
