I have been playing Battlefield 2 alot and know it crashes to my desktop when i just get to the map to play. Yesterday and this morning my computer was also turning off and restarting by itself(Hasn't done it the rest of the day). I have updated my driver's for my graphics cards and i think i have the latest patch for BF2. How do i fix this?

I would run memtest and check your ram if you're getting random crashes. Are you overclocking at all?

No overclocking. I just put in more ram 2x256 to 2x512. I also upped my video settings in BF2 to some on med instead of low.

If you just put in more RAM I'd say that is the most likely culprit. See if it happens with only your old RAM in.

Not sure what the difference would be... I'd say Memtest+ because it sounds more up to date.

If it runs at boot like the old memtest it will just show there are errors I think - you should really run it for a few hours to be sure that there aren't any problems.

Benchmark Scores 480 shader processors will get you VERY high scores!
My brothers and some other buds i hav,e have the same problem. Sometimes it got solved by reinstalling BF2 and the 1.3 patch.I belive its the 1.3 patch causing this. Cuz they can run the game aOK using the orginal realease.

So mabyt you should start there, by reinstalling the game?

download memtest for windows. could just be something about the way the game is programmed. games are getting shittier and shittier like that. oblivion is the same, even completly stock itll sometimes throw itself to desktop, and strangely for me at least, even at stock the game has an "illegal operation" 9\10 when i exit the game. so yea, could just be bad programming.

I don't have that problem with Oblivion, but it can sometimes become really laggy and slow in areas where it was fine a few minutes ago. I've read that some people have memory leaks with it.
