Interesting quote form the [H] Beta Perf Review:

We upgraded our test platform to have 16GB of system memory, which is the level that we performed all of our graphed testing at here today. Subjectively, there did feel like there was a difference in the overall gameplay experience by utilizing a larger amount of memory, especially with the GTX 770. More testing into memory utilization needs to be done. The game seems to consume more memory the longer you play. In our testing scenario, we got a maximum of 6.5GB of system RAM utilized just doing our short run-throughs on the previous page. However, it is after several hours of gaming, that the RAM will be pegged through the roof, and in the case of 8GB of system RAM, it just wasn't enough for long sessions of gameplay.

Other users there are generally confirming this; will need to pay more attention to my RAM usage with my present 8GB. Fitting I guess as BF2 made upgrading to 2GB essential, BC2 liked 4GB available, BF3 was 8GB (though it only needed a bit more than 4; X58 users with 6GB were fine) and now BF4 really benefits from having 16GB installed apparently.

The gradual increase over gameplay time sounds to me like a memory leak. I highly doubt it will need more than 8 gigs of memory. People need to stop taking so much damn stock in this beta and its use of system resources. Give the final game one patch and THEN we can start talking about system usage.

Though one other thing I didn't like about it was it wasn't quite obvious where the actual *games* (and comm) were happening. I saw separate rooms I remember but they were never populated. Was that just bad timing?

What do you mean. There are just different channels for the games we most play. Typically we are all in the main one, or the battlefield Channel if we are playing.

So just played several rounds of Obliteration with Reayth and Ufgy and I think that is now my favorite mode. You have no choice but to play as a team with only one real target. Picking up or being anywhere near the bomb throws you into these all out wars of 15+ man gun fights when you are not in a high speed car chase. Two closely matched team turns that mode into all out awesome.

PS: The DMRs stop sucking once you unlock the angled foregrip

I agree. Its like a giant game of "Smear the Queer" but with tanks and RPGs. Lots of fun.

Yeah I'm aware of that; again this was two years ago and then there was not an obvious "Battlefield" room just something like Game Room #1 and Game Room #2 iirc with no one in them at the time. Didn't really want to interrupt to clarify wtf I should do, either.

As far as system RAM goes I have been hovering between 4.9GB-5.7GB used during beta gameplay. I got tons of other stuff open too and recording as well, so in my experience 8Gb should still be enough unless new maps bring the pain.
