I'm trying to not get too excited about bf4.. I don't want to get let down when I realize it's only an engine that's not as bright as the old engine and a map pack.... :banghead::banghead:

Oh and MAILMAN.... hehehe waits patiently... :D

I have the same exact opinion. BF3 is good, don't get me wrong, but BC2 was/is miles better. I hope BF4 takes notes from BC2 gameplay.

the map i was most disappointed with was Wake Island. I spent so many hours on that map in BF2 it was just heartbreaking to see it the size of a shoebox

Yea, I agree I played the hell out of Wake Island in BF2. I played Wake Island almost as much as I played "el alamein" in desert combat. :toast:

I just don't agree. I went back to try BC2 after playing BF3 for a few weeks...and it just felt dated and less "rich", for lack of a better term. I dunno, maybe I'm easier to please in this way.

whenever my mates asked me to go find a server - 99% of the time i would find a wake island server. It is by far one of the most fun maps ive ever played and i totally loved it.

Well Operation Hastings is Vietnam of course it feels dated:roll: JK ! I played a round of Panama Canal about a week ago and had a lot of fun. There is a lot I miss about it. I thought prone was a big deal until after I play BF3 for a year and figured out I hardly ever use it. Guess it is a big deal if you are a camper or maybe recon which I don't even have half of one service medal for.

Well I use prone plenty to try to get better, sudden cover such as behind a smaller hump in the terrain or a felled tree when taking fire from an unknown location. Or at the very least not provide such a large target, though I usually end up getting killed anyway if nothing to block the bullets.

Huh? Did you play Wake Island on BF3? The map is still huge. They only slightly reduced the airspace to keep jets from just doing bombing runs all round. The landmass itself is just as large.

Also I hate the Horse Shoe of Fail. I have had 1 enjoyable round in it in 4 games and I am just plain sick of seeing it. I hope they finally retire that PoS.

I don't know, it feels much smaller to me, too, it must be the engine. Bandar is supposedly the largest BF map ever, and it seems tiny compared to Dragon Valley or Operation Road Rage. It takes a lot of strategy out of Wake Island not being able to destroy the bridges, that added a ton to the game play.

Yea, I wish like hell they would re make that map and bring modding back to BF... So, another studio like "Trauma Studios" could make another Desert Combat! :toast: I wish Frank Delise didn't sell Trauma Studios to Dice for them to not make a proper DC.. They bought them to kill it off for BF2. Don't get me wrong I loved BF2, but I loved DC as well and wished they would have let them mod BF2 and add an updated DC to it. Frontlines sucked ass as a multi player game.. Nothing like DC.. they could have done so much better using Dices BF2 engine.
