Well...look at the source.

Many things from the Banstick Dummy should be taken with a grain of salt and/or good humor! But good advice in this case; that's what I would try next short of nuking Origin off my machine. Could be deeper than that even though, who knows what this guy has been mucking with and how.

Many programs don't open with elevated privileges even if you are running an administrator account. You can test this easily by opening command prompt normally and then opening it by way of "Run as administrator". Well that could be your trouble. Get some free antivirus and free malware programs on your system and run them. Your rig could be full of bad schit man. Microsoft Security Essential and Malwarebytes are free and work well for me.

I keep getting god damn punk buster exe has stopped errors every 5 seconds. Anyone know a fix? I ran the punkbusterA thing in the BF4 utility to run it "install it" I guess, but I cant run pbsetup to update for BF4.

BF4 isn't using punkbuster. So, you might just want to uninstall it for now.

Try Rising Storm(red orchestra 2) it is really good multiplayer, big maps, 64 players. Some people might not like the realism style with no med packs though. I really like it and kinda prefer it to BF3

I agree with your observations based on playing a couple rounds last night. So I have to ask myself is it worth paying the $69.00 (or more) to purchase this game...
New maps will be fun and I do like the improved Battlelog and the ability to customize your loadout outside of a match. I am still undecided at this point.

Ya so far I'm liking it but not loving. I only have about a half hour though. I like the movements alot and the sound for sure. I'm also betting that this is pretty much what were going to see at the end of the month, give or take a patch. I mean they only have 20 something days to have this baby ready for store shelves and digital distrobution, so that must take around that time. I'll get some good time on it tonight.

No it's actually not but it is easy to make such a judgement right away as I sort of did this morning after less than a half hour actually playing (and after being pretty excited based on news and trailers like everyone else). You not only need to spend more time but also really have to tweak it, especially the graphics options. Get rid of Post and use MSAA and put the res scale to 100% and the HUD at 0 and FOV at like 90 or 100. Also the beta drivers. It looks a lot better than I first thought and all the graphics goodies arent event there yet apparently. Also there are a lot of cool little things that are new. I am not going to say it's $60 of new but, really, don't judge yet.

And check your framerate if you want but I thought it was running a lot higher than it says so whatever; how it feels is what really counts. I still need another 7950 though!

So I have downloaded this 2 both hard drives and and reinstalled and still pops up and won't load the game. Do I go ahead and just delete all my orgin shit and then redownload and install ?Fucking lame !

Takes freaking so long to load any map
and looks more like 'shitty' windows 8.

Ive had a couple of crashes but loads ok and looks great. The sound stopped one time and the game crashed another time and I had to reboot. But it was just a couple of times

Ya happend to me too, you have to install c++ 2010 package. and make sure you reboot! I didntn and it kept coming back lol.

Been enjoying it quite a bit. Be nice to have more weapons and my guy feels like hes 40 lbs heavier than bf3 guy. Sound is really nice. Sniper heaven if I've ever seen one. Also hard on the ol system I find. Good stuff. To me it feels like a pretty solid bf4, not bf 3.5 like I anticipated. More time and more unlocks needed.

damage a hell of a lot better then BF3. The dudes fly when you hit them with an RPG too.

I had that with PB B. I uninstalled it, thinking I would just do a new one, and couldn't get the updater to work. Gave it a shot and have had no problems since.

Im telling you guys check out and tweak all the graphics options especially the new ones like HUD size and res downscaling or whatevs it is exactly. It looks worse than BF3 before you do but this also isn't final graphics. And I already have mine looking better than the latter.

The average comment I'm seeing in game is how much fun it is, for what that's worth...

Oh, and Kurgan, no chokepoints! At least in Shanghai.

Mixing Punkbuster and win 8 is bad news. During the alpha, they said disable it to run the alpha on win 8.
