Red Faction: Guerrilla and Just Cause 2 are both 3rd person. Not ground breaking, but entertaining. Both are sandbox style. Of the two I prefer Just Cause 2, as it has some great helicopters and jets.

That is one hilarious game, while being one of the more fun 3rd Person games I've played. I used to mess around on Insane level when I was bored. I played it on the original Xbox, I didn't know it was a PC title, as well.

Tomb Raider 2 (no puzzles just run and gun game)
    Punisher
    Manhunt
Syphon Filter (either of them, they all rock)
Duke Nukem: land of the babes and time to kill

And if you need only graphics and no gameplay then forget this list and play all those 'assassins creed's, 'uncharted's and whatever theyr called

Borderlands (PC version) can be played in 3rd person if I'm not mistaken
There were quite a lot of options obfuscated in settings files :)

If you have a 360/PS3, Vanquish. Amazing game, though on the short side; however, I enjoyed it so much I played it through three times in a row lol.

:D urban terror is a pretty fun FPS... but it does get a bit boring after a wile ( it is great pwning noobs tho :D always getting 1st or 2nd...... only 3rd if i was AFK :D)

Fact: Resident Evil is the best 3rd person game ever created.

(4 and 5 were pretty lame compared to the ps2/3 series.)

Note: your opinion may not agree but this does not change the fact :D

Gears of War is a good time. But 2 and 3 aren't made for PC...

Red Faction Guerrilla. The game doesn't have a very engaging storyline, but the gameplay is amazingly fun. The destruction engine in this game is on par with DICE's frostbite. Every wall of every building can be destroyed in several different ways. Same with enemies. You can smash him with a sledgehammer, shoot him with several different guns, stick the wall behind him with an explosive charge, or even stick his friend with a charge and then kill him in the explosion's radius.

If you have a 360 I highly recommend "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell:Conviction" the plot is amazing but the multiplayer is not anything great. I've spent hours playing through the campaign

Also I recommend "Alan Wake" which is also for the 360 with a beyond amazing story but no multiplayer

Metal Gear Solid 4 / thread in terms of 3rd Person im sorry it wins hands down due to controls and aiming just being spot on awesome. but that only applies to PS3, across all platforms well take your pick in reality they all play roughly the same.

Max Payne 2 is up there on the list of games that haven't been mentioned yet, and it still looks pretty good on PC, and it's on sale on Steam for another 5 hours for $3.74.

Mechwarrior 4 is also worth mentioning. You can get it for free from MekTek. You can use 1st or 3rd person view though i always prefered 3rd person view. 1st person was better in Mechwarrior 2.
