As shown, the 7970 is more powerful, but also still more expensive. Really depends on what deal you find on one though. I've seen them as low as $280 on Newegg's email promo deals here in the states, and when the new AMD cards release, they may go even lower.

Word is the new R280x is going to be a re-branded 7970 GHz Edition for a speculated $300, so we might see standard model 7970s going for $250 by then. If there's any 3 games in their Never Settle free game bundle you want and don't have, it's a no brainer really.

That's just insane prices on a hd 7970 (with vat and shipping to expensiv) her in denmark you can only get a club 3d hd 7950 13'series or a gtx 660 ti for that money for 210€ about 280€

    caseking.de 281€,380$ for the ASUS Radeon HD 7970 DC2T (525$ in denmark)

PhysX never really took off to begin with. Even in it's prime (8-10 years ago) there was very few games that supported it and it added very little to realism that couldnt' already be seen at high detail. Phyx also put a huge performance penalty on the game's frame rate. If you had an "average" video card the performance drop didn't warrant the feature.

Since Nvidia acquired the technology there still hasn't been much traction. Less than a handful of games in the last half-decade support it. Look at the 2013 list only two games support it! It's irrelevant.

Phyx is dead, I actually believe Nvidia are embarrassed by it and are trying to distance themselves from the subject.

    Update

I have ordered me the ASUS Radeon HD 7970 DC2T, i couldn't resist the temptation of bying this card, i saved me more then 100€ buying it from casking.de and i think it would be exciting to se how mantle will perform, from review i would get minimum 10 fps more in games like bf 3 and in the wildest games up to about 40 fps in difference

The 7970 is still a very good card and would run most games in high to ultra settings. Yep the mantle update should bump its performance when running games with Frostbite 3 engine :)

Yes a gtx 660 (have sold it today) is a midrange but good card, the hd 7970 is the best "normal" hd top card and should perform better in any game.

Any one know someting about the mantle performance gain with a game based on frostbite 3 engine? Theres not long time before it's december.

Anybody who know if it would be possible to get bf 4 with the 3 free games ?
