[WTB][US] Best cheap pci gpu

    I'm looking for the best (and cheapest)pci gpu.I'm loading ubuntu on to a dell machine and want decent desktop effects in compiz.This dell box only has pci slots though(not pci-E).
    So anybody got anything good?:)

    I don't know if you'll find a whole lot of pci cards used but if you're looking for something affordable, check this out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131082 . I don't know how good the driver support is, but it's definitely more on the affordable side than some other PCI cards out there.

    If you don't have pci-e you must have agp which is a lot better than pci.

    No, those old Dells often didn't come with AGP slots. My old Dell Dimension 2350 didn't come with one either. I had to run a PCI Geforce FX 5200 for the longest in that thing.

    I was also running Dell + 5200 until last week..
    Palit and other crews DID make an 8600 for PCI, just haven't seen them yet myself
