Okay so here is the deal. My cousin's BF is going back to school and wants a notebook. They assume because I know a lot about PC's that I know what the best notebooks are. But truth is I don't follow notebooks at all and I know there are so many models out there!!
What he wants is simple. Intel C2D T8400 or bigger, 320GB HD or bigger, 3GB DDR2 or bigger. DVDRW no BD-rom needed. Wireless G or better. Vista or Windows 7. Not gaming so dedicated GPU/Mem not required but always nice.
I'm in Canada and anything in the $600-800 price range is what I'm thinking.
Acer, Asus, HP whatever. Something good all round hence I say "mainstream" so decenet battery life, decent performance but doesn't have to be top performance in any feild! 15.4" screen I guess is normal now??
Thanks in advance!
Jake
