Any major brand 23" IPS would probably be better. Just compare the specs

Why? Most in that price range has the same specs as his current monitor.

Before i got my Yamakasi Catleap monitor i was looking at this LG IPS monitor, it was good priced.

http://www.lg.com/uk/support-product/lg-22EA63V-P

but if u can afford it Dell's Ultrasharp series should be a really good choice.

My dad has the same monitor - Stand is pretty shitty but the monitor/panel itself is pretty thin. Get a proper VESA stand for this thing and its all gravy. Nice monitor for a triple screen set up on the cheap

There is not a lot of information that I can find about the Phillips monitor that you mentioned. If you are planning on mainly gaming then I would recommend the ASUS VE278Q. If not, then I would go with the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M.

I also had a question I wanted to ask. I was reading this article and it mentions that the Viewsonic VX2450WM has a 50M:1 contrast ratio. Why is the Ultrasharp, that I mentioned earlier, considered better when it only has a 2M:1 ratio?

I bought my Dell S2340Ms for 145 USD each when they were on sale. I've been very happy with them. It falls right in your price range and Dell displays tend to be pretty solid, at least from my experience. Right now I'm seeing it for 160 on NewEgg and 157 on Amazon but these are also US prices. I don't know what prices are like in Malaysia or if it's even available in your area.

I don't like Phillips as well as ASUS LG Samsung HP dell
I agree except for Dell. Dell has decent displays.

lol, at this price point they all probably use the same panel or relative close to the same.
