Not yet released GM200 aka Geforce GTX1080? :D

If not in rush I would seriously wait for these new Nvidia GM200 and AMD 380x/390x high-end dx12 gpus.

powerfull Nvidia Card?

Gtx 690 / 780ti, / 980/
And what do you think about titan?

Regards,
Apart from budget, you have to consider your PSU - is it powerful enough for the best graphics card, or would you have to upgrade?

am really curious about a graphics card coz am about to get another CPU ( a quad core) currently using a hp 3010 MT duo core with a GT 610 zotac , which is not good enough .

@purplekaycee

may i kindly suggest you abandon this thread.

Have a think about your plans for the entire pc.
I know lagos isnt the easiest place to buy highend pc components legitamately.

Members here will gladly help you but you need to supply more info.

Existing parts you own (in detail) and could possibly reuse..
Your budget.
Your parts source in your country.
Which games you play.

There is no point spending money for the sake of it.
As you can see, almost invariably, best means most expensive.

A good thread title might be .....

Help me spend $1000 on a nice gaming pc.

@capslockstuck,thats the spec of the pc am currently using.am currently building a new one .thats why am all fuzzy about a graphics card.most of the ones sold here dont exceed the 2gb range.
so am going to get it online.
i play all pc games especially fps

So what is the exact hardware that you have?
With that link provided, it's a guess for us what you have exactly, so what hardware configuration do you have from that link?

You can probably only re-use the memory and the HDD, and thats about it then.

Start another thread Dude, your thread title has no relevance to this new challenge.
You will get a different audience if you think about what you are trying to do and post an appropriate title.

Im not dissing you, do a bit of homework by reading some previous posts written by people with a similar problem.
Im unwatching this thread now.

I look forward to offering some help in your new thread if i can.

Anything faster than a 960 would throttle so much it wouldn't be worth the expense. Just start look for a new system or get a 760 or 960

If your using the same board this still applies. But if you upgrading platforms soon then the card can be used in a newer system. Your PSU also comes into play. As most OEM PCs cant handle a 970

That doesn't mean it is fast at all. You need an entire system optimized for your $600 or so budget. You should start a thread in the system builders section.

EDIT: Looking at your specs, if you want to save money, I'd recommend just getting a better video card. You can spend <$100 (in the US anyway) and get a card that is many times faster than your GT 610, and you will probably not need to upgrade your PSU or anything. Check the price on GTX 750s and 750 Ti.

*If* you can get a better CPU that work in your motherboard socket, that might be worth it also.
