gog.com, steam, you can find some good deals on cdkeysdirect.com too (see link in sig, buying games online)..I generally go for steam or ea activations unless I know someone with a copy of the game I can used to install my copy. Gog.com is cool for some cheap classics, and of course everyone knows steam...I love it, and tend to prefer it.

I love not having to mess with discs, or going through the trouble of getting the codes out and everything to install them. As long as you don't do anything stupid (like give away your password) you'll be fine.

You'll get over that when you're sick of piling up cases, boxes and manuals...I love steam because it does handle all that stuff, gives me one place to go for all my games, I add non-steam games via shortcuts, get ahold of my clan, join up in their games (on supported games..but quite a few do). Steam is quite convenient...I didn't like it at first, but now I tend to prefer it because all that it offers w/o a membership fee or anything like that, plus they're pretty quick to fix mistakes. I've yet to have an issue with steam since I joined in mid 2007. Plus you gotta rely on an OS to even run the game, that you must have, you must have drivers, you must have pb for some games, you must have directx or ogl, you must have so much, what's one more that's not that bad to deal with? I say try it with some demo's, frankly I find it getting better every year...I highly recommend it.

Its not even that. I just hate being bound to steam. Dont get me wrong i like the concept of it, I just prefer not to have it running while I wanna play my game. Keep the store. Offer the ISO for download. Think Technet, but instead of being able to have 10 unique keys, you get 1.

Yep they're legit, read thru the thread (buying games online in my sig). When I first looked at them I doubted it, but I did a lot of research, even contacted EA support about them and got good to go from them, cdkeysdirect just provides a key so odds are it's going to be quite a bit cheaper...which is handy on a budget and for those that don't need the physical side of the game or don't mind steam or ea downloader.

The owner is friendly and fast to respond, I've purchased quite a few from them as-well-as know about a dozen others online and off that have had good experience with them and the cd-keys. If there is an issue they'll refund ya, proof in my thread, plus for the price it gets the job done and you stay legit because you own that key, which activates the game. But if you question it, pay more at a store for the full box, because it's not worth worrying about, but tbh there's nothing I've seen yet to worry about from them and have had nothing but a good experience from them, better than I've been treated at target, walmart, bb, gamestop, etc. Pay less, get less crap, same game.

The longest I've waited is about 2 hours, generally within an hour of purchase, but a couple of my friends had to wait for almost 24 hours. That's one big bummer is it's not instantanious, but I figure if I'm legit, and I have no issues, and save money, it'll be worth the wait. Keep me posted on how it goes and congrats, the owner of that site visits this forum from time to time so you can contact him here too.

half.com is decent too, if you can wait the 6-14 days for media mail, I've snagged some good deals for sure...it's just ebay's section for media in all honesty. But another place I've had good luck with.

I had my first purchase from them two weeks ago with Sims 3. The activation code said it was already used when I entered it into the ea download manager.

I sent cdkeysdirect an email regarding this. They said this had been a problem as of late, took the option to buy it like that off their site, and refunded my money.

All of this took place within 16 hours. Great customer service made sure I won't hesitate to buy from them again,
