I've pretty much finished my setup in the room of my house, and it runs sweet as a nut of a 22" Samsung LCD Monitor, however I have just bought as PS3, and I need yet another monitor or LCD TV or something like that.

What do you guys think would be the best way of doing things? I don't have to watch TV on it or anything like that, it will be used strictly for the PS3. Due to the thing running at 720p and 1080p would an LCD monitor be out due to the fact it doesn't look good running at anything but it's native res?

GTA 4 has good physics, Gran Turismo looks damn good and Resistance Fall of Man is always fun lol

But to answer your question with my limited knowledge (I only own a few games!) Gran Turismo looks the best, but I still enjoy GTA the most :)

aCid, he was asking a different question:p.

If you have a newer Samsung, you can make the monitor show the input, without streching it, you will get the black bars. Most newer monitor's scale very well, and still look great at their non-native res.

Most any LCD/Plasma TV will scale well and look good. Best thing is a 32" to 42" TV to work with. My PS3 games are limited but I Really liked the way FFXIII looked on demos. For a realistic game, that OFfroad game looks awesome. Cant remember the name of it but it has four wheelers in it.

isnt 1080i = 1650x1080?

Nope, 1080i is equivalent to 1920x540 progressive. 1080p is 1920x1080 and so is 1080i, but interlaced only renders half the lines every frame, rendering 540 on even frames and other 540 on odd frames.

Besides, 1650x1080 does not exist, it's 1680x1050 and it's neither 1080i nor 1080p.

Well I have a 42" Plasma, and also played on a 42" LCD. My opinion, Plasma is better. But: More expensive too...

Play Metal Gear Solid 4 on your 42" LCD TV...though I found that more of the visuals were more visible to my eyes on a 22"inch monitor since its not programmed to auto contrast and make parts of the game look too dark when in shadows, also its crystal clear. Framerates can drop on a ps3 unfortunately depending on its connection, your best buying a gold hdmi cable if you don't have one already since its the only way you can get more frames, also playing on a 42" inch lcd tv VS 22"inch you'll notice you get more frames out of the 22"Inch whereas it looks more clearer as well.

I never thought I had to worry about framerates with a console but yes for PS3 and MGS4 you do lol, get the game and you'll see what I'm talking about xD.

anyway 22"Inch is way more clearer than a 42"Inch Plasma or LCD. Plus I heard somewhere that if you play games on a Plasma it leaves an imprint and it overheats alot, but i can't prove that :). 42"Inch the size doesn't make it all that great, sitting on your computer with a 22"Incher and great audio surround or something is way better since its right infront of your sight anyways.

EDIT: When I say 22"Inch I mean a 22"Inch LCD MONITOR not TV EDIT NUMBER 2: I'd prefer 22"Inch Monitor over 42"Inch TV where it be PLASMA or LCD

As of current I am running an HDMI to DVI gold cable, with a digital out for my sound. So far this setup has given me no problems, what I was more looking for is a 22" monitor that would work well with the system i.e display 1080p/i. Any Ideas?

I'm not keen on plasma TV's or things of that ilk. I don't really want to go much larger than 22" either, mainly due to cost. Unless the screen is really something, I don't want to spend over £200

Well if you have HDMI cable then I suggest you buy a 22" that supports a HDMI cable.

Like this:
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_565&products_id=8331

If you have DVI to HDMI cables anyway I'd suggest this one:
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_565&products_id=8097

This is the one I have and have no problems with picture and the one I can garauntee 100% that works well with 1080i:
http://www.jw.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=ASUS&part_no=3001&index=Monitors&subindex=ASUS

They're both pretty affordable since its in AUD I don't know the currency difference between england and australia but im pretty sure these monitors maybe around or less than 200. I have the BENQ one, its screen is a little smaller but its way wider. All of them are capable of displaying 1080i with no problems.
