I can read it a dozen times. It still does not clearly state Return to Castle Wolfenstein. SO in the end he could have been talking about Wolfenstein 3D or Return to Castle Wolfenstein. You just assumed it was the latest one. For all you know he could have been referring to Spear of Destiny.

However you made a blanket statement that the Wolfenstein universe was in fact created by Raven when it was clearly created by iD software. So by making that statement you were in fact incorrect and my comprehension of that fact was correct without making any assumptions.

I loved FO3 . Although i wished it had more OB in it and without fast traveling.

I recently found Doom (the original) for my iPhone so now I carry Doom with me wherever I go. How awesome is that?
Can't wait for Rage to be released... been waiting since I first heard the rumors about iD's "new game" being developed.
First game I played by iD was Wolfenstein 3D and man was it awesome back then? I replayed it like 2 months ago, too ;D

Well Oonly played the demo and actually enjoyed it i do have the game here all wrapped up still as i'm waiting to finish another game but anyways on the back of the box those i said are on the back of it so they all must of had some thing to do with the game.

In the end who ever did it got me sold on the demo which a lot of games these days don't do.

EA hate is well deserved, they have destroyed almost every franchise they have bought.

They are doing better in the last couple of years (maybe), but that's just because they saw their sales go down so quick that they realized they couldn't continue selling shit at gold price or they would die soon.

Regarding the whole Raven/ID discussion a bit ago:

Raven was founded before ID Software, but the team that founded ID Software had been working on various projects for a few years prior - and went under the name SoftDisk (and had another software company in '89, can't remember the name, though), then it was changed to ID, and then changed again to ID Software.

So, technically, both companies are equal in age . . . when it comes to Raven's releases with ID's engines, their work tends to go quite a bit further than what other companies get to do - IDK how it tends to go down, but Raven seem to have better access to "behind the scenes" tools and knowledge for ID's engines that other devs don't seem to have or make use of . . . as well, Raven tend to release their titles a good year or two before other devs can make use of the same game engine . . . Quake4 was released almost exactly a year after Doom3, meaning that ID had to have had their hand in it - or at least were supervising the project . . .

Either way, ID and Raven have worked so closely together that some of us tend to view them as being two parts of the same entity . . .

Mythic franchises whose quality dramatically decreased after the adquisition because the tiranic deathlines imposed by EA in order to make this franchises "episodic" (one game almost every year) or the ones that simply dissapeared soon after the adquisition are IMO:

Command&Conquer, Dune (in fact, all Westwood franchises)
Ultima, Wing Commander... (Origin franchises in general)
Delta Force, F-22 and Comanche (Novalogic)
Battlefield

On top of that not always EA was evil and actually made some very good franchises of their own that they irremediably destroyed too. For example Need for Speed.

EDIT: Truth be told the team behind the first NFS games was acquired and renamed to EA Canada before this franchise was created although it was quite independent at the time. Eventually it was cannibalized and refilled with other -IMO seing the results, far less talented- people and although EA Canada has continued making NFS, it's never been the same team since then and the quality of games has decreased dramatically until NFS is almost like a joke of what it was. All the adquired teams have suffered the same and that's primarily why those of us who have some memory hate EA. Now we see them putting their hands around teams like Bioware and even how they try to "aproach" Crytek or Valve and we litteraly shit our pants.

Looking at my list, I have realized it's not the franchises that they destroyed (which they did), it's the Developers making those franchises what were destroyed and cannibalized, which is far worse indeed.
