BF3 specs?

While searching the internet for a few hours I came across something that I found quite interesting.

A video, probably fake but worth the view.

On top of that, I randomly got an email the other day. It included possible specs for the upcoming Battlefield 3.

- Single core processors 2.8ghz Intel or AMD 3000+

About the same as Crysis

- Multi Core supported

This means that those new Intels such as:

Who knows if these $1,000 chips will run BF3 that great when it's released :/.

- 256mb Minimum Video Memory

What chips!? Most people have 256mb today though, however I'm guessing it would be released around the same time the 9 series is announced, the 8900's from nvidia are supposedly coming out in February.

- 1 gig minimum ram

Makes sense, I wouldn't imagine playing it on Vista without 4 gigs!

- 12-15gb of free space

Makes sense, the most recent game I have is Supreme Commander and that requires 8gb

I've noticed that the specs are quite similar to Crysis's specs, but there will probably be a bit more eye candy. Also, the most notable item missing is information about OS's supported! Is XP supported?! It would make sense, here's what's on http://bf3me.co.nr:

Hopefully it is not always as dark settings as BF2142. Hoo Hoo I have one reason to upgrade from 3 to 4GB ram even tho the board will not see or I will not be needing it.

Don t worry

Ofcourse you will be able to play it very well, a Quadcore Extreme is very fast even when it is on idle mode. The chip is 45 nm so you have a lot of overclocking abilities when the processor would get out dated. But there is a cheaper solution for you go for a Intel Q9450
it s mush cheaper and when you Overclock it will give you the same results as this Extreme quad.

I hope they make it sort of a hybrid of BF1942 and BF2 style gameplay. Maybe set in a fictional war in the late 50's between the US and USSR. They could call it World War 3.

More advanced ground weapons than 1942, but less advanced airplanes than bf2. Dumb fire rockets instead of heat seaking, slower speeds and higher maneuverability for better dogfights. Maybe some weird fictional tesla-esque weapons. And chemical weapons are a must. Imagine taking a V-2 mobile launcher armed with a nerve gas warhead and wiping out a whole capture point.

It also needs some new gamemodes. CTF, team deathmatch, maybe some sort of frontlines mode where you push a line back and forth rather than capture points.

i hope they also come out with another version of 2142. the original was BF2 with HDR. not to mention it has had the worst and still has the worst support in patches with gliches and bugs.

If it is like 2142 screw that I don't want to play that game. If its something similar like BF2 with more weapons and tactics then it is good. And more over I should be able to carry over my BF2 account and play in BF3 and earn more points from there. Its like a upgrade in warefare why not upgrade the user acct?

that would be an expansion, I think it will be a whole new game, new point system ect, it wouldnt be fair for new players if points got carried over so, just like for BF2142, youll have to get brand new points!

I loved all the battlefield games until 2142 came out..I did not even try the demo and I did not buy the game. I knew the game would suck! and it did suck in the end. " although many people do like it "

I hope its a remake of BF2 because that gave me over 1000 hours of gaming..for me..thats incredable amount of time spent on any game As long as they stay to realistic warfare..and not lazer beams and the crap I saw in 2142. We will have an award winning title on our hands

If anyone gets PCGamer, there was a statement of "Stay tuned for the next issue, you won't want to miss it!" Ha! This is awesome, also the graphics in the background are not from the game, an actual soldier.

A few points:

- "Our spies tell us..." That's a good sign.

- The new engine will be expanding on the current frostbite one (exploding buildings and long view distances.)

- MEC and NATO forces verified

- Ranks, Commanders, the good 'ole stuff!

google bad company and then think, hmmm 64 people multi player in that world

the min specs should be like crysis as ea owns the devolper>the enigine so all the ea houses will be modding the crytek enigine for their games. i cant wait for the c+c fps as i think this too will be on the same engine.
