I feel like I just saw gameplay of a game made ten years in the future. This game truly is ahead of its time.

Saw it at IGN. Its like a CGI trailer that you can play (well, not exactly but close). Lot's of scripted sequences but really entertaining in how they merge the actual gameplay with it. Bought both Bioshock 1 and 2 so this definitely a buy for me. It really is good to know that they opted for an open ended world (not exactly sandbox) instead of the almost linear corridor shooting with the last two bioshock franchises. Really liked the combo plasmid attack. Can't wait for this game! One question though. Is the engine a complete overhaul and heavily modified version of the unreal engine?

Open ended? the guy literally was on rails for a part of that video... It looks nice, and has smooth transitions between cutscenes and gameplay.. but beyond that its meh

That gameplay footage was without the HUD and all that, but it still looked like a really different (read: refreshing) style of play. Something about it just seems...on a higher level than the other stuff that's out there.

downloading the video now, from the trailer about this game I am quite excited. the original 2 Bioshock's bored me after a few hours of gameplay, never got to the end of either.

It looks very fun, but the big majority of it looks scripted for some reason, as if someone planned how they're gonna play it beforehand.(unless it's just extremely linear)

The graphics are very impressive and the scripted event's transition smoothly to gameplay.(which makes it look very awesome imo)

Looks like it's gonna be an awesome game overall.:)

This might be the beginning of the game where it is indeed fairly linear, but after that, you might have options of where you go, in which there are some free-play, and some scripted events.

And the game might give you a bj and make you coffee... Right now all I see is a linear heavily scripted cut scene where u shoot a few people.

looks exciting, I've never minded heavily scripted gameplay either, IMO better than boring yourself looking down endless corridors or crossing massive forests etc.

I don't know why Bioshock is a failure for me. I mean I was expecting so much as it was supposed to be another SystemShock.
Must be really that I expected too much of. I need to approach the game again without looking at it through System shock 2 experience.

I was quiet amazed by the gameplay trailer but yes it was quite scripted too, but who really cares, this game is far from release and I think I will concentrate on the titles that are out or coming out soon, gonna keep my eye out for this though:toast:

PS. At around 3:20mins into the video, that douche giving that racist speech looks like he's shapeshifting "Cough Cough" (reptillian):eek::laugh::roll:

Even though it's completely different from the first two games i find the environment extremely interesting. Entire city in clouds. Insane architecture, hand railways for fast travel, etc i just hope it will feel good and alive. You can make everything right but if you fail at the atmosphere feeling, the game can sink like a brick.

As long as the storyline and the gameplay and the storyline are then this will be another classic.

Thanks DD. This game may turn me back to FPS shooters again. Beforhand, I would thinkto myself, "how lame another shooter ... *plays the game anyway*".

    DanishDevil says thanks.

I'm pretty sure the one in the OP is 720p, I downloaded it from that site with IDM and it's definitely 720p, around ~300mb.

lol, I was going to going to say the same thing...

I am definitely looking forward to this. Bioshock 1&2 are my favorite all time single player shooters.

I love the concept of rapture (or in this case Columbia), best atmosphere of any games I have ever played.

What i meant to say was if the storyline and the gameplay are at the same high standard of the first 2 this will be another classic smartass.
