This time asking to fill the bottomless investment pit with customer money. Nice.

To be honest, this is a little unique in the FPS setting. However, they would've had my money at first sight if it was a VR game. Now THAT would be amazing.

I'll pass. Daikatana was a flop and he hasn't worked on anything significant in a decade. there must be a reason why a publisher won't fund his game. I mean it doesn't sound like he is making the next Chronicles of Riddick or Bioshock.

The video was awful to say the least. The KS page says "Winter 2018". I'm suspecting they haven't even started working on the game properly.

I have a hard enough time trying to like the new Doom beta. the word classic to me just means "we have a small budget" and he doesn't seem very sincere when he uses it.

love the part about Ireland. yeah, because castles are cool? c'mon... you setup your studio in Ireland because of tax credits

if you look at the bullet points all he promises you is the most generic FPS ever and a soundtrack.

Do they mention anywhere what engine are they using ... Romero was great level designer in pre-Unreal era of first idtech engine but I have a hard time picturing him doing level design in some indie engine like Unity.

Pretty dumb to ask for that much on KS without any alpha footage or even a few screenshots of what the game might look like. I can't even call those drawings decent concept art. After a month and less than 15% of their goal, I'm doubting they'll even make it.

Then again, he's a founder of Doom, the guys that stagnate rather than evolve.

Romero was a legend but he has done pretty much nothing of relevance ever since he quit id software 20 years ago. I doubt he's gonna make something good now, especially when kickstarter is involved.

I've never kickstarted before, but BlackRoom sounds like it could be fun. Granted, Daikatana was kind of stupid, fighting robot frogs in the future, and skeletons in ancient Greece or whatever. But this sounds rather up to date, conceptually.
